We are forming an International Macintosh Users Group which will
help facilitate the distribution of Macintosh Users Group tools and
information internationally. I have had many requests for this type of
MUG interaction from various MUGs over the last year.
I would like to invite your MUG to become a co-founding member of IMUG, the International Macintosh Users Group and waive the first year dues if you are interested in helping contribute to this historic effort. Phoenix, Arizona -- May 10, 1991 -- The International Macintosh Users Group
has been formed to facilitate the distribution of Macintosh User Group tools and information between Macintosh User Groups internationally and create a method interaction between all Macintosh User Groups.
International Macintosh Users Group (IMUG) goals include:
1). The creation of a non-profit organization dedicated to the enhancement of
Macintosh Users Groups world wide.
2). To provide an outlet for the sharing of information and User Group tools
to all Macintosh Users Groups. Such services will include creating a pool
of resources from all IMUG members, distributing a catalog of available
tools and providing a central ordering point. Items of interest will
include MUG library selections, newsletter articles, newsletter sharing,
MUG CD's, special MUG discount programs, ideas for fund raisers, training
programs, MUG products, speaker scheduling, supporting development of new
Macintosh products that benefit the User Group community and more.
3). MUGADMIN the National Macintosh Users Group Administration fidonet echo
will be utilized for supporting this international effort along with
other electronic message services including AppleLink. MUGADMIN is designed
as a tool to help User Groups share information among the MUG leadership
community and to help provide an active source for input from other
IMUG leaders. MUGADMIN is a great resource for those leaders who desire to
share information.
4). To meet the needs of the International Macintosh User Group community
in developing, creating and continually forming the type of tools which
will provide quality of membership to all associated IMUG organizations.
Who should join IMUG?
Macintosh Users Groups who would benefit from the sharing of information and
User Group tools among Macintosh Users Groups world wide. Those MUG organizations who believe they have tools to provide other MUG's and are willing to contribute to the growing IMUG resources. Individuals who desire to start a MUG and do not wish to "recreate the wheel". Those individuals or Users Groups who wish to be notified of the services available to IMUG members.
How do I join IMUG?
IMUG membership is $25.00 US for one year and can be purchased by sending $25.00 to: IMUG, 718 E. Campbell Ave., Gilbert AZ 85234. Membership includes a special directory of services available which lists: availability of monthly MUG library disks, monthly newsletter articles, Macintosh speaker listings, special member product offerings, discounts on participating National MUG products, New MUG specific products, ideas for fund raisers, membership drives, and International MUG networking for success. IMUG members will be able to choose services they are interested in providing their MUG membership from a selection of resources. In this way, MUG's can meet their specific needs to enhance the quality of their Macintosh Users Group and share resources.
